Instructions and pattern pieces to create your own Chelsea Bag.  Modern, boxy tote and handbag that are reversible for your many moods. Clean lines and cool shapes make for an easy access bag with contemporary urban flair!  Materials are listed for informational purposes only and are not included with the sewing patterns.
 
Materials List:

Allow extra yardage for matching or centering a design on your fabric.

FOR THE TOTE

  • 5/8 yard of light to mid-weight cotton for the Exterior
  • 5/8 yard of light to mid-weight cotton for the Reversible side
  • 1/2 yard of lightweight fusible Interfacing
  • 1 yard of 22” wide thick, heavyweight Sew-in Interfacing
  • 1 sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" EZ extra thick Template Plastic found at most quilting or fabric stores OR 1 piece of 1/8" thick heavy pressed cardboard (you can use the cardboard from the back of writing pads or purchase "chipboard" from an arts supply store.)
Finished size: 12 1/2" wide across the top of the bag x 14 3/4" tall x 3" deep 9 1/2" wide across the bottom of the bag

FOR THE HANDBAG

  • 1/2 yard of light to mid-weight cotton for the Exterior
  • 1/2 yard of light to mid-weight cotton for the Reversible side
  • 1/2 yard of lightweight fusible Interfacing
  • 5/8 yard of 22" wide thick, heavyweight Sew-in Interfacing
  • 1 sheet of 10" x 12" EZ extra thick Template Plastic found at most quilting or fabric stores OR 1 piece of 1/8" thick heavy pressed cardboard (you can use the cardboard from the back of writing pads or purchase "chipboard" from an arts supply store.)
Finished size: 15" wide across the top of the bag x 8" tall x 3" deep
12" wide across the bottom of the bag
